I'm looking to setup an inDesign system that is capable of the following:
1. User authentication, Administrators, user permissions
2. connecting inDesign documents to custom backend functionality
3. all documents saved remotely on a server, when a user logs in then they can open the documents that they have permission to edit etc..for example users can open inDesign documents that are on the server and then save them back to the server.
Is all this possible and what technologies do I have to use?
Can I build all this custom functionality through normal inDesign SDK plugins or do I need to use inDesign server. I was reading about inDesign server and it says that the front facing inDesign document creation UI is different than normal inDesign...? Can someone explain this?
