Client opened session with ID 1 but the SOAP header targets session with ID 2!

Hi,

 

a couple days ago I installed trial version of InDesign Server CS6. I'm trying to get sessions working so I have  basically rewriten the java client example from SDK in Ruby. Everything works fine until I try to run script in different session - I get the following message:

 

Client opened session with ID 1 but the SOAP header targets session with ID 2!

 

Does anybody know how the  session mechanism works and what might be the reason for this error? Are session connection - based? I havent foud much info about sessions in INDS docs.

InDesign Server 5.5 Missing Links

I'm getting missing link errors in the log when InDesign Server opens files. The missing links reported are for xml files and snippets. Opening the document and looking in the links pallette shows no missing links. I tried using AppleScript to see if I could access these links but they are not there. I can find the links if I open the document in a text editor so I know they are actually there but I cannot seem to find a way to get rid of them. Any suggestions would be great. Thanks.

 

  1. Has any one else seen this problem?
  2. Is there some way to "clean" the file? ( I already tried doing a save as on the files. )

InDesign Server - License

Hi,

 

I want to have InDesign Server trial for ever for one my cloud product in which I am tring to demo. After the demo user can either purchase InDesign server themself or plug-in my tool with their existing InDesign server. If I use InDesign Server 90 days trial, after 90 days, will it stop to work or continue to work with water mark? I am fine to have water mark even from the first day. I email to Adobe asking "InDesign Server Developer Free License" but no response. Please advise.

Indesign Server CS4 service is not starting on Windows Server 2003 64bit

Hello guys,

 

I am not able to start Indesign Server CS4 service on windows Server 2003 SP2 64bit .

I have successfuly configured the service with InDesignServerService.msc, set the port to 18555. InDesignServerWinService the Log On option is set to "This Account". Also tried using different accounts!

 

When starting the indesign service from windows Service control panel I get this error:

Could not start the InDesignServerService x64 service on Local Computer.
Error 1053: The service did not respond to the start or control request in a timely fashion.

 

Error log from windows Event viewer:
Error
Timeout (30000 milliseconds) waiting for the InDesignServerService x64 service to connect.

 

Indesign server application works if launching from command line with the specified port 18555.

If trying to lauch IndesignServerService.exe from command line, there is a delay and finally nothing happens.

 

I have also tried launching 32bit indesign server service and the same error comes.

 

Would be grateful for your thoughts!

Hi,

 

Our company uses InDesign Server CS4 with a PHP-based daemon. This all works fine, but our (bought) code is encrypted.
We are upgrading to InDesign Server CC, and need help setting up a daemon and robust queueing system.

 

That's why we are in need of someone to help us with that, on a free-lance base.

InDesign Server 10 CC 2014

Hi there,

 

we are using InDesign CS4 upt o CC 2014 and have some automation going with InDesign Server.

Our latest InDesign Server is 9. This workflow can't handle CC 2014- Documents.

 

Is there any Release-Date for InDesign Server CC 2014?

PHP SOAP Client for InDesign Server

Hi,<br />I am new to IDS and I am writing my diploma thesis about working with IDS. I need some help or ideas how I can implement a SOAP-Client for IDS with PHP.<br /><br />I am working with PHP 5's SOAP-Extension and know that there is one function "runScript". But when I try to send a SOAP-Message I get some error like "The required SOAP element "RunScriptParameters" could not be found Please check the SOAP Message that was send to InDesign Server."<br /><br />Thats my code:<br /><br /><?php<br /><br />$client = new SoapClient('http://localhost/IDSP.wsdl');<br /><br />$client->__call('runScript',$params);<br />?><br /><br />How should I fill the array '$params'?<br /><br />Thanks,<br />Christoph

Where to find the CS4 API ?

Hi,

 

I'm looking for all the available documents about CS4 server, especially the current API (aka scripting reference, as it was called in CS2).

I have also never been able to find it for CS3 (I only succeeded to get it for CS2).

 

Does someone know a URL or place where I could find it ?

 

Our company is a partner and owns a CS4 server license, but up to now, it didn't help to find the docs.

SQL Stored Procedure hook into ID CS3?

We're trying to automate pulling Salesforce data into our ID layouts. We have access to an SQL Stored Procedure. Is there a server product that can tie the two together? I'm not aware that ID can pull it by itself.

UTF8 script arguments communication between InDesign Server and SOAP Client is not right, any solution about it?

Client return to server value is not the right encoding , and Server push to client argument not right too, Why?

Import(insert) formatted text(HTML) into document

Hi guys, I have faceed with folowing problem:

how to insert into text frame formatted text ?

At Indesign desktop version this feature was able through pasting HTML from clippboard with appropriate settings of clippboard preferences. But at server versionthere is no such function.

I have also invesigated XML import:  you can set up text and paragraph styles and map them with tags but this technique doesnt support nested styles for instance if you have <b><i>xxx</i></b> and appropriate styles "b" and "i" i will be applied to "xxx".

 

So I need to insert html as it did clipboard pasting.

 

Any thoughts ?

Stuck parsing an InDesign document, extracting data to an XML file

Hi,

 

I have an indesign document of a newspaper page (1 spread + 1 page) with some articles (title, body, img, img caption) and ads (img). I need to parse this and create an XML file from which data can be stored into a mysql db. The db handling is already programmed.

 

The xml file will have this structure (page = root):

          <content>Lorem ipsum</content>

     <ad>

          <img title=""></img>

     </ad>

</page>

 

The .indd file is created using the Smart Layout plugin from WoodWing software. When trying to print the "TextFrames>Texts>contents" the textframes that use the smart layout plugin do not show, they seem to be not included in the data model of the app. That's why I went another route, and parsed "Stories>Texts>contents". I can get all the text objects of the page, including the articles that are created using the smart layout plugin. Among these objects are article title's and article bodies. The problem is I don't know which title belongs to which body, so I can't create a new article node in the XML. I have exported the orignal file as IDML and browsed the spread and the stories, but I see no way to link article titles (textframe), article bodies (textframe) and images (contained by rectangles) together.

 

Is there a way to solve this?

 

Setup:

InDesign CS4 .indd documents

Win2k8 server

JavaScript (via ExtendScript toolkit)

InDesignServer CS5.5 (64bit) (want to use this)

SmartLayout plugin (installs @ InDesignServer CS5.5 32bit. This 32bit InDServer does not start, it has missing dll's).

InDesign CC Server - ESTK Cannot Interact

I'm running Windows Server 2008R2 (64-bit) and I'm having a huge issue getting scripts to run from ESTK to InDesign CC Server. I've got InDesign CC (Desktop) installed as well. Both versions are fully updated as of today. Can you please help me fix this? When I try to run a script using ESTK targeting InDesing CC Server from the same computer, it sits there with a message box saying "Waiting; press ESC to abort..." It appears that it's not able to communicate with the process (InDesignServer.com, which is running at the time) at all, and I'd love a little help debugging this.

How to start two instances of InDesign server independently?

Hello,

we have a multi instance InDesign server installation.

And we are able to start two instances of InDesign server on different ports.

 

But now we would like to use different plugins for different instances.

Is it possible somehow? For example install InDesign server two times in different folders or something like that?
