I'm a newbie to write JS for InDesign Server and I'm getting the error like 'Cannot launch target Adobe InDesign CS6 Server!' while connecting the InDesign Server using ESTK (as shown below), could anyone help me to resolve this feedback?

We are trying to place a image using scripting in Indesign server cs6 inside a rectangle object.
inImage.TextWrapPreferences.TextWrapType = idcontour
inImage.TextWrapPreferences.ContourOptions.ContourType = iddetectedges
The flow doesn't work
The picture in the eps format.
If to start a script locally, the flow fine works.
Help me, what's the problem?
The installation instructions states
You need to download Adobe Provisioning Toolkit Enterprise Edition (APTEE) for using the InDesign Server trial
The download link only refers to CS6, CS5.5 & CS5 not CC
Since there is no Adobe Provisioning Toolkit Enterprise Edition for CC I decided just to install and run the trial.
However I got the Adobe InDesign Server is not properly licensed and will now quit message.
According to the CC Release notes it says:
InDesign CC Server needs to be activated before it can be used. If the computer is online, activation is done automatically when you install. You need to provide your Adobe ID, and serial number when prompted by the installer. Unless the software is activated, you'll see an error, "Adobe InDesign Server’ is not properly licensed and will now quit."
My computer was online yet the it seems it didn't perfom the automatic activation as it suggests. When I entered my AdobeID credentials I did not get any errors saying it could not connect online.
So I had to do something and decided to use the Adobe Provisioning Toolkit Enterprise Edition for CS6.
This allowed me to get pass the licensing issue.
The next problem was I was getting DDE Server Window:InDesignServer.exe System Error popup. Telling me The program can't start because svml_dispmd.dll is missing from your computer.

So after browsing the net to see where I can get this missing svml_dispmd.dll I found this post http://software.intel.com/en-us/forums/topic/285859
and decided to install what it suggested.
I still got the missing dll error so I copied it from C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Intel\Shared Libraries\redist\intel64\compiler into C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe InDesign CC Server x64
Now it just sits there and hangs at the same spot

What the heck is going on here?
I have installed Indesign Server CC on another machine and although I did not get the missing dll problem it still however hangs at the same spot mentioned above.
Could someone from Adobe please help. The already I'm losing days with this trial and I will have little days left to test this product.

I just downloaded the trial of the InDesign Server CC 2014 for MacOS X but I do not find the correct command to activate the trial license.
I always get the following error: ERROR [server] Adobe InDesign Server is not properly licensed and will now quit.
What shall I do to activate the trail?

[InDesign Server CS4, CS5, CS5.5 line 13: 2753 Bus error "$installed_name" "$@"]
We support a few clients on various version of InDesign Server and all have exactly the same issue upon having the application produce PDF files... line 13: 2753 Bus error "$installed_name" "$@" which causes InDesign Server to unexpectedly quit.
Searching these forums we have found CS3 instances of this error message pointing to fonts not loaded on the machine running InDesign Server, but no "this is what we did to fix it" solution has been found.
Our customers are running beefed up MacPros or Mac Minis with Mac OS 10.6 (non server) and OS 10.7 (server), 8GB - 16GB RAM, 1TB HD
For font management we have the following being utilized:
- Universal type server
- if no plugin exists for InD Server, not sure how much this app will help manage fonts
- Suitcase Server
- if no plugin exists for InD Server, not sure how much this app will help manage fonts
- Loading all fonts into: /Users/*/Library/Fonts
- seems to be the best option for font management on a system running InDesign Server
Our company develops a plugin for InDesign Server and allows regular InDesign to produce the pdfs in a similar manner. Running our plugin under regular InDesign we DO NOT have these issues of BUS errors, yet as soon as any of our customers utilize InDesign Server, they all immediately see BUS errors.
We have written a shell script that quits (normally) indesign server, and relaunches it (if quit abnormally) so that we have some semblance of an "always on" InDesign Server application, but this is merely a band-aid fix for a bigger problem.
We are pointing the finger at Adobe InDesign Server being the problem here, yet our customers do not care where the blame is placed, we are seeing a solution for them in any fashion that presents a permanent solution.

Hi all,
I working a project that we receive artwork(idml file + fonts) and we have to generate pdf files.
I need to "load" and "unload" fonts from indesign context. Right now I´m copying them (to indesign´s font´s folder) before pdfs´ generation, but when i need to remove it, I can´t.. Indesign locked it.
It´s there anyway to release this fonts? Is It possible to load it from another folder besides "indesign fonts´folder"

I have a script (javascript, jsx) that will parse content from InDesign (.indd) documents using InDesignServer. I want to be able to pass the filename, as well as the path of the indesign file as parameters to this script.
I have tried this vbs solution:

DoJavaScriptFile takes 3 params, the first being the script, the 2nd is an array of params. In my example, you can have an array of arrays of params. When you receive params from javascript side, it will see param 0 as (one, two), param 1 is (three). For most people, simple case is fine: eg:

The javascript would look like this:

from the jsx side, there's a magical variable called "arguments" of array type. When you pass variables in, the 1st one will be arguments[0], the next one would be arguments[1], and so forth.
To execute this from command line, (assuming everything lives in c:\myscript):

This approach does not work, because I get an error from the CreateObject function, it cannot create an object for InDesignServer.Application.
Ideally, I want to be able to pass arguments from a python script to a jsx script.

I am new to InDesign server development. I developed a plugin for InDesign Desktop and it is working fine. Is ther any way to use this plugin in InDesign server also(directly or after some modification in code). I am bit confused as i am not finding any info anywhere.

I come from Flash/Flex background and new to InDesign Server.
My requirement is to convert a pdf file consisting of "n" pages into "n" jpeg images. Is it achievable using Indesign Server? What is the api I should use for achieving this?
I am able to convert only the first page of pdf into jpeg, and the snippet looks something like below:

I have an InDesign Server CS5.5.I have a shell script that waits for xml files to be placed into a certain directory on the server. When it sees a file in the folder it launches an applescript that controls InDesign Server. I need to know how to specify the -preview option for the InDesign Server binary so the files generated by the server will have previews when they are opened in InDesign client. The apple scripts look like this:

Where/how would I specify the -preview option. I see nothing referring to the -preview option in the Library for indesign.
I am using Indesign server to create documents which contains text and images. My job is to create & export documents to pdf. Document are sometimes contains 100 plus pages. I'm closing the document each time.
This all works perfectly, but while it's running, I see the memory usage of InDesignServer.exe spike by several MB, and then it settles back down to a still-higher-than-initial value. Eventually, the InDesignServer.exe is taking up several hundred MB and my server starts giving out-of-memory errors.
I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong. Like the original poster asked, it appears as though I should be flushing something that I am not.
I can't find anything in the language reference on how to programmatically flush this after each document. I'm not even sure if this is the culprit.
I'm going to use IndesignServer within the enterprise network to establish a platform for online editing, there are about 200 users, the server hardware configuration, please?

I need a quick clarification on one of the requirement in InDesign Server that whether we can map the fonts folder for particular instance say if there are 5 multiple instances, can we map these 5 instances into 5 different font folders? Please advise.

So we have a production InDesign Server (CS6) running 4 instances. The instances are set to start as Windows services and no issues there at all. The problem is my Clover commands that handles the LBQ to manage those instances. Right now I have a .bat file that I run manually and it opens a command prompt and runs it there.
The problem is that if the server gets logged off or reboots then that Clover part dies and my LBQ dies with it.
How can I go about setting this up as a Windows service so that it runs automatically?
Is there a resource where InDesign Server and Scene7 features/capabilities would be compared? Or are those even comparable?
