LBQ returns blank page (and HTTP Error 400).

So a little background -

 

We run InDesign CS6 on 2 different servers. Both servers are Windows 2008 R2. CS6 server has been running smoothly for a few years now. We're running both in a multi-instance environment and using the Adobe LBQ client to manage the queue and jobs.

 

Recently I built a new machine to test CC14 server. I noticed that the basic informationg regarding the LBQ was the same so I built out a couple of instances like before and tried to run the LBQ client (clover.cmd).

 

It starts to load and seems to load completely but when you try to go to the queue site (localhost:8080) it returns a blank page and an HTTP 400 error. Nothing else happens. The instances of Indesign are running fine but the LBQ is not.

 

My servers I've tried this on are the following:

 

Windows 2012 R2

Windows 2008 R2

 

I have even gone back to a clean VM of Windows 2008 R2 and even migrated back to InDesign CS6 and still the same issue!

 

The only thing I can think of is that the JRE is different. Originally our servers were setup with JRE 1.7 but they've auto-upgraded and are running 1.8. My new servers have 1.8 from the beginning.

 

I'm really at a loss here as to what might be happening. Spent last 3 days trying to puzzle things through to isolate any differences in configs, settings, versions, etc.

InDesign CS5 Server SDK

Hi,

 

I notice that InDesign CS5 Server is available from the partner download area.  However, I haven't been able to find the InDesign CS5 Server SDK; I've looked in the partner download area and also on http://www.adobe.com/devnet/indesign/sdk/index.html. That page has the CS4 Product SDK and the CS4 Server SDK but for CS5 it only has the Products SDK (which doesn't contain InDesignServerAPI.jar).

 

Where can I get the CS5 Server SDK, or whatever is required to compile Java programs that use InDesign CS5 Server?  Is it released yet?

pb running "Catalog Producer"

I'm trying to set up the Demo of "Catalog Producer" in AEM 6.1 which use Indesign CC Server 2014

 

I have a running instance of AEM 6.1

I have a running instance of InDesign CC Server 2014

 

When I create a new catalog page in AEM I get some feedback from IDS but the page generation failed.

How do you upload/download Indesign Documents to the server through client interface?

Hi,

 

   I am new to Adobe Indesign Server and just got the trial version and am starting to play around with it. I need the Adobe Indesign server to generate preview from .indd packaged files. Currently I am uploading the .indd files directly on the Indesign server to generate previews. Any idea on how to upload/download files from Indesign Server using their client interface. I am currently using their sampleclient and eventually plan to use the SOAP api for building a client. Any help appreciated.

Adobe Typekit fonts not found

I have an instance of InDesign Server CC 2014 set up on configuration_noport that happily finds my Adobe Typekit fonts, If I run the Indesign server as a service using the same configuration none of my Typekit fonts are found.  I am running the service as the same user as my Desktop user, and also have tried rebooting the box with no success.

 

Does anyone have any ideas how I can force the service to be able to find the Typekit fonts?

Hi All,

 

We developed Javascript for the Indesign Document Cleanup with around 10 GREP Points.

This should be working fine in our end.

 

FYI., very new to Indesign Server


Request:

Customer request is move this script to Indesign Server.

 

Question:

1. What is Indesign Server?

2. What is difference between Local System Javascript and Indesign Server

3. Advantages or Disadvantages of using Indesign Server

Best approach to implement a content driven composition with InDesign ?

Hi,

 

I'm search for the best approach to implement an automatic content driven composition with Indesign.

 

 

My contents are XML based.

 

 

For now, I work with InDesign (Desktop app) and a scripting solution to handle CMS search and import in predefined InDesign templates or files with known pages number.

 

 

Tomorow, I need a solution to compose many pages on demand with an unknown pages number produced, a simple and repeatable InDesign template.

 

 

InDesign server will be used to do this job.

 

 

But how to use it ?

 

 

by handling IDML files  ?

by scripting ? an ImageCatalog.jsx based on an XML structure ...

other solution ? maybe a plugin ?

 

 

What's the best approach in term of performances, development charge and maintenability ?

 

 

Any ideas, samples, ... will be appreciated

Installation issue on Mac

Hi,

 

I tried to install Indesign Server CC 2014 on my Macbook Pro, but the install fails showing message "Erforderliche Komponenten sind deaktiviert" (english translation: Required components are deactivated).

The Macbook is running MacOSX 10.10.5 and Adobe Creative Cloud 2015 including Adobe Indesign is installed on the machine.

Indesign cs6 didn't save my whole yesterday work

Hi all,

I'm using adobe indesign cs6 on Mac-OS X EL Capitan

I'm really in a big problem, I worked for 9 hours yesterday on my magazine file, and I closed it normally, after saving it.

 

today I'm opening the file, and it shows like I didn't even work yesterday.

when I open all my file, from the side bar , it shows like I didn't work on any indesign file.

PLEASEEEE HELP ME!

I try to use the Java API to drive an InDesign Server CS3.<br />I have set up Windows Services for two InDesign Server instances, both using diffenrent prots and different IOR Files.<br /><br />When I try to connect the Adobe Java SampleClient (from teh SDK. Adobe InDesign CS3 Server SDK\samples\sampleclient-java-corba) I can connet to InDesign one or two times.<br /><br />After that i get an Exception on the next try:<br />org.omg.CORBA.COMM_FAILURE:   vmcid: SUN  minor code: 201  completed: No<br /><br />same thin occours when I use the precompiled java program musing the sampleclient.bat.<br /><br />One strange thing could be encountered here. I definitely do not use port: 2512" as mentioned in the error message. I use port 2267n and it works for just two client calls (after each restart of the InDesign Service).<br /><br />any hints?<br />What ist the thing about OmniOrb? [IDS Win]How to flush Indesign server.

Hi All,
I am using Indesign server to create documents which contains text, images & tables. My job is to create & export documents to pdf. Document are sometimes contains 300 plus pages. And cs2 server process this jobs one after the other in queue ..may be 100 jobs in a queue. Here after certain amount of time a 'out of memory' error comes up and Indesign server gets crashed(its around after processing 30-40 jobs).
I have taken care to delete all allocated meomary in my program through New- delete pair. Still after each job allocated memory to Indesign keeps increasing.
Is there any way so that I can purge memory from Indesign after my job complition? I tried to use 'PurgeMemory' over IDocumentList but its not that effective.
Any suggestions are most welcommed!

Javascripting - loading external class files

Right now I am using several classes within my jsx scripts for InDesign. For example, I have a class to serialize javascript objects into PHP serialized strings. Rather than include this class in every jsx file I was wondering if it is possible to load it or use it from an external file.

IDML to PDF using Java API

Hi,

 

   I have created an IDML with template through the Indesign GUI and have created the respective XML files(story,designmap,etc) and able to make the changes in it and display that in the UI. This is fine, my requirement is to use the Java API to pass the .idml file (which holds the template) and creates a .PDF out of this. I am unable to get any source code samples for this, this should be done through Java API and no scripting is allowed. I went through the IDML spec, but doesn't have any source code samples for the requirement. Hence, please do provide the source code samples to achieve this using Java API. Expecting positive response...

Need help executing jsx in InDesign Server

Hi All,

 

I have written a javascript and indd template to convert my data in xml to pdf in InDesign. Now I want to use this javascript and indd template in InDesign Server. I have removed all GUI related thing in my script so that it doesnt need any GUI input. I am having a problem using SOAP implementation for this.

 

Can any one guide me how can i call this script in InDesign Server. I've tried sample client given in InDesign Products SDK and it is giving me error executing this javascript.

 

Any help in this issue will be highly appreciated.

C# app throws error when connecting to indesign server

It throws this exception:

Invalid syntax (Exception from HRESULT: 0x800401E4 (MK_E_SYNTAX))
   at System.Runtime.InteropServices.Marshal.MkParseDisplayName(IBindCtx pbc, String szUserName, UInt32& pchEaten, IMoniker& ppmk)
   at System.Runtime.InteropServices.Marshal.BindToMoniker(String monikerName)

 

Caused by this line:

InDesignServer.Application app = (InDesignServer.Application)(System.Runtime.InteropServices.Marshal.BindToMoniker("config uration_noport"));

 

The server is successfully running with the no configuration parameters therefore the configuration name by default should be "configuration_noport".

 

Any idea why it's throwing this error? This is a C# 4.0 console application connecting to Indesign Server CS 5 (7.0).

Installing Transparency Flattener Preset for Indesign Server CS4

I'm trying to figure out how to install a transparency flattener preset for InDesign Server CS4.

 

I can see how they are installed for the InDesign app.  Edit -> Transparency Flattener Presets...

 

But I'm not sure which directory to install these on for the server.

 

I've seen a post that mentions:

C:\Documents and Settings\<UserName>\Application Data\Adobe\InDesign\Version 6.0\en_US\Transparency Flattener Presets

 

/Users/<UserName>/Library/Preferences/Adobe InDesign/Version 6.0/en_US/Transparency Flattener Presets

 

for the Desktop version.  But when I place files here even for the CS4 Desktop, they don't seem to show up in the UI.

 

Any help would be appreciated,
